Did you know? The first LEGO minifigure came out in 1978. It was a policeman and it came with set 600. The three themes that came out when minifigures did were: Space, Castle, and Town, which is now called City. The LEGO minifigure's predecessors, which came out in the Legoland theme, with unmovable arms and legs, no face, and a slightly different structure. The LEGO minifigure is 33 years old now and 2008 was its 30th anniversary! In 1989, the Pirates theme was introduced and it included the first minifigures with different facial expressions, special hands, and special legs.
